As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Tech Writer to join our growing team.
Write, edit, and maintain accessibility documentation, including Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) and Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) Translate WCAG 2.1/2.2 and Section 508 technical standards into clear guidance for developers, designers, and content creators Document accessibility remediation processes, testing procedures, and known issues Create and update accessibility style guides, checklists, and best-practice references Collaborate with accessibility testers and engineers to accurately capture compliance status and remediation timelines Review existing product documentation, help content, and UI copy for accessibility and plain-language compliance Maintain a repository of accessibility documentation and ensure version control Support responses to accessibility audits, procurement requests, and compliance inquiries Stay current on updates to Section 508, WCAG, and related federal accessibility regulations
Required Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in technical writing, documentation, or a related field Familiarity with Section 508 standards, WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines, and VPAT/ACR documentation Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory information into clear, accessible language Experience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, QA, legal/compliance) Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Markdown, Confluence, Google Docs, Microsoft Office) The Ideal Tech Writer will have the following: Experience with accessibility testing tools (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, axe, WAVE) Familiarity with ITI VPAT templates and federal procurement accessibility requirements (Section 508, EN 301 549) Background in UX writing or content design with an accessibility focus Certification in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS) is a plus Experience in government, higher education, or regulated industries
