Senior Software Engineer, Accessibility

Mozilla is hiring a senior engineer for the Firefox Accessibility Team. The engineer will improve the Gecko accessibility engine, build platform features that work with assistive technologies, solve cross-platform systems problems, and collaborate openly with browser, design, and product teams to make the web more accessible.

• Improve the architecture, stability, correctness, performance, and memory use of Gecko's accessibility engine.
• Debug multi-process, multi-threaded, and operating-system-specific issues.
• Write code, tests, specifications, and prototypes for accessible web-platform features.
• Collaborate with browser teams and influence accessibility-related web standards.

Candidates need a computer-science degree or equivalent experience, demonstrated C++ proficiency, web accessibility and ARIA knowledge, JavaScript and web-application knowledge, cross-platform native-development experience, and experience debugging multi-process and multi-threaded systems. Strong distributed-team communication and problem-solving skills are required.
