Accessibility Engineer

Professional Galaxy AB is hiring an Accessibility Engineer contractor to support an in-house accessibility team for a major digital product environment in Stockholm.

The role partners with product and engineering teams to scale accessibility practices, improve developer workflows, and ensure inclusive web/mobile experiences.

• Collaborate daily with engineers, designers, researchers, and product managers on accessibility implementation.
• Support code reviews and evolve shared accessibility processes and tooling.
• Lead initiatives that scale accessibility across products and teams.
• Create and deliver internal accessibility guidance and training.
• Partner with product teams to embed accessibility into existing and new features.
• Improve developer experience and reduce barriers to building accessible experiences.
• Contribute to accessibility audits and testing workflows.

• Full-stack engineering experience with accessible web and/or mobile applications.
• Strong knowledge of WCAG criteria and accessibility best practices.
• Understanding of disability-related user needs and barriers in software.
• Ability to explain differences between web and mobile accessibility.
• Practical experience using assistive technologies (VoiceOver, TalkBack, JAWS, NVDA, browser tools).
• Experience auditing and testing digital products for accessibility.
• Ability to mentor and support engineering peers on accessibility practices.

• Experience building accessibility frameworks/tools used by multiple product teams.
• Experience delivering accessibility enablement programs and internal training.
