Accessibility Test Automation Engineer

SYSTEMTEC is hiring a contract Accessibility Test Automation Engineer for a hybrid role in Columbia, South Carolina (3 days onsite per week).

The role focuses on Section 508 and WCAG compliance through automated testing development, accessibility auditing, and collaboration with development and manual QA teams.

• Conduct Section 508 and WCAG audits for internally developed web applications.
• Develop, maintain, and improve automated accessibility test scripts/frameworks.
• Collaborate with engineering/automation teams to improve tooling and test coverage.
• Identify non-automatable accessibility scenarios and coordinate with manual testing teams.
• Support defect identification, validation, and retesting for compliance fixes.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT (or equivalent experience alternatives as defined by employer).
• Minimum 6 years experience in application development, systems testing, or related technical roles.
• At least 2 years developing automated tests for Section 508 accessibility compliance.
• Strong knowledge of WCAG and ability to train others on accessibility testing/development practices.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• No third-party agency employment model for this posting.

• Experience balancing automated and manual accessibility testing strategies.
• Experience building reusable accessibility automation frameworks.
