The Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) enables the DMHC to deliver essential services to the State of California using information technology (IT). The systems that the OTI supports have become a valuable tool in the execution of DMHC’s business functions. OTI develops, maintains, and supports multiple IT systems that include a vast variety of office automat
ion tools, custom applications, public and internal web sites, business intelligence tools, and the underlying IT infrastructure. The Infrastructure Services Division (ISD) consists of network engineering, systems engineering, desktop engineering, database administration and systems administration staff that provide support for the department’s enterprise infrastructure to ensure the quality and functional availability of the DMHC’s most critical services and systems.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the d
irection of the Information Technology Supervisor II (IT Sup II), Quality Assurance Supervisor, the IT Specialist I (ITS I) serves as a Quality Assurance testing specialist who leverages an in-depth understanding and high-level of expertise testing Enterprise Software, Infrastructure and/or Enterprise Data solutions. The ITS I is responsible for analyzing project user stories and requirements to design and document comprehensive test cases and test plans. The role includes executing these tests, identifying and defining corrective actions, and developing automated tests using Microsoft Playwright with TypeScript. Additionally, the incumbent conducts performance testing with BlazeMeter and JMeter, and collaborates with end users to support user acceptance and production validation testing. The ITS I also leverages the department’s QA tracking system to report, monitor, and manage defects effectively.

Working Conditions
The DMHC has locations in Downtown Sacramento and Rancho Cordova. Both locations are located close to light-rail with various amenities. The incumbent will work in a climate-controlled cubicle and/or office environment with artificial lighting.
This position may be eligible for hybrid telework. The telework schedule is permitted at the operational needs of the Department and is subject to change, consistent with the State Telework Policy and the DMHC’s Telework Policy. All employees who telework are required to be California residents and maintain California residency in accordance with Government Code 14200\.
