Part Time Educator (Accessibility & Inclusion focus)

Lincoln Park Zoo is hiring a part-time Educator focused on Accessibility and Inclusion to deliver learner-centered experiences for guests with disabilities in onsite and virtual settings.

The role supports sensory-friendly and customized programs, collaborating with the Accessibility and Inclusion Manager to provide inclusive wildlife education experiences.

• Design, prepare, and deliver accessibility-focused educational programs.
• Facilitate Sensory-Friendly Mornings and customized group visits.
• Set up and break down instructional materials for each program.
• Provide accommodations for guests with a wide range of disabilities.
• Support learners across ages and ability levels in busy zoo environments.
• Foster welcoming, inclusive learning spaces.
• Partner with learning staff and support additional programs as needed.

• Availability for part-time schedule (24 hours/week), including weekends and evenings.
• Role term runs April 1 to November 25, 2026.
• Preferred high school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years experience working with people with disabilities.
• 1-3 years experience in formal or informal education-related settings.
• Ability to work onsite and in virtual environments.
• Reliable transportation, punctuality, and team collaboration skills.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to manage physical demands of outdoor zoo programming.

• American Sign Language (ASL) fluency.
• Experience with sensory-inclusive program design.
• Experience in museum, zoo, or cultural interpretation environments.
