Accessibility Specialist

The Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities is hiring an Accessibility Specialist focused on physical accessibility in New York City's built environment. The specialist supports site visits, field assessments, documentation, and practical recommendations for public buildings, facilities, spaces, and events.

• Coordinate and attend physical accessibility site visits and inspections.
• Document existing conditions with photographs, measurements, sketches, and field notes.
• Prepare site-visit reports, recommendations, logs, and follow-up records.
• Apply ADA and building-code concepts under supervisory review.

Applicants need the education and community-work experience specified by the official posting. Relevant experience may include architecture, construction, engineering technology, building inspection, accessibility, field surveys, project coordination, public administration, or related built-environment work.
