Strategic Communications Specialist, Remote within United States

Bixal is hiring a Strategic Communications Specialist to support digital content operations for federal web properties including Medicaid.gov, InsureKidsNow.gov, and data.medicaid.gov.

The role supports content publishing, accessibility checks, dataset posting, and stakeholder coordination within established CMS and workflow processes.

• Load, format, stage, and publish web content in WCMS tools based on established workflows and Jira tickets.
• Apply accessibility, style, and formatting quality checks using approved standards and templates.
• Upload datasets and supporting files to data.medicaid.gov under senior guidance.
• Support setup/maintenance of public comment forums and notification services.
• Coordinate with business owners on request clarification, approvals, and revisions.
• Maintain SOP/training documentation related to content operations.
• Participate in content inventories, audits, and tracked updates.
• Gather/report basic analytics outputs for content performance reviews.

• Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, public health, public policy, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in digital content, communications, or CMS-based web publishing.
• Working knowledge of web accessibility and quality standards (Section 508/WCAG).
• Strong written communication, attention to detail, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust security clearance.

• Experience supporting federal health or public-sector digital programs.
• Experience working in cross-functional human-centered digital transformation teams.
