Automation / Section 508 / Performance Tester

C-HIT is hiring an Automation / Section 508 / Performance Tester to support federal/state technology programs with comprehensive QA coverage across automation, accessibility, performance, API, and compliance domains.

The role combines test engineering and compliance reporting in integration-heavy systems with strict regulatory and security requirements.

• Build and maintain automated test scripts for APIs/applications (e.g., Selenium, Postman).
• Automate regression, smoke, and integration suites and integrate execution into CI/CD.
• Perform Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 testing, including screen reader and keyboard-only validation.
• Document accessibility issues and remediation recommendations.
• Design/execute performance, load, stress, and endurance tests.
• Validate SLAs, response times, throughput, and identify infrastructure/API bottlenecks.
• Test API gateway integrations and data movement pipelines (including Kafka/event-driven flows).
• Verify logging, monitoring, and error recovery mechanisms.
• Produce test plans, reports, compliance artifacts, and support UAT/ATO documentation.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years experience in automation, accessibility, and performance testing.
• Strong API/integration testing experience.
• Hands-on accessibility testing with tools such as axe, WAVE, JAWS, NVDA.
• Hands-on performance testing using JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, k6, or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

• Experience supporting CMS or federal healthcare IT programs.
• Familiarity with MuleSoft API Gateway.
• Experience testing Kafka/event-driven architectures.
• Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD quality practices.
• Section 508/accessibility testing training or certification.
