Job Title: Accessibility Specialist Location: [Hybrid/Remote) Experience: 5–8 years ⸻ Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced Accessibility Specialist to lead and support accessibility compliance initiatives across our digital platforms. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in accessibility auditing, inclusive design, and compliance with standards such as AODA and WCAG 2.1 Level AA. h disabilities. ⸻ Key Responsibilities: • Evaluate and audit digital properties (websites, applications, documents, and multimedia) for compliance with AODA, WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and related accessibility standards. • Provide detailed accessibility assessments and recommendations for design, content, and development teams. • Partner with UX, design, and engineering teams to embed accessibility into all stages of product development. • Conduct user testing and assistive technology evaluations to va
lidate accessibility. • Prepare and maintain accessibility documentation and compliance reports. • Develop and deliver accessibility awareness and training sessions to internal teams. • Stay current on evolving accessibility laws, standards, and technologies. ⸻ Qualifications: • 5–8 years of professional experience in digital accessibility, usability testing, or inclusive design. • Strong understanding of accessibility guidelines and frameworks, including AODA, WCAG 2.1 Level AA, Section 508, and other relevant standards. • Experience with accessibility evaluation tools (e.g., Axe, Wave, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver). • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and ARIA best practices for accessible design. • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills. ⸻ Certification Requirement (Mandatory): The Accessibility Specialist must hold at least one of the following certifications: • Formal training or certification in AODA/WCAG 2.1 Level AA • Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) • Equivalent recognized accessibility certification Documentation of certification must be provided.
